SPINUS featured in ETP4HPC Handbook: bridging Quantum and HPC in Europe
September 10, 2025We are delighted to announce that the SPINUS project is now featured in the ETP4HPC Handbook of European HPC Projects.
ETP4HPC is an industry-led think tank that guides the development of the European advanced computing ecosystem. As a private, non-profit association and member of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, ETP4HPC brings together industry, research, and stakeholders to shape the European HPC and quantum-enabled computing roadmap. Their mission is to foster a globally competitive European HPC value chain and to ensure Europe remains at the forefront of advanced computing innovation.
SPINUS directly contributes to this vision by developing experimental platforms for both quantum simulation (>50 units) and quantum computation (>10 qubits). Using the exceptional coherence properties of diamond and silicon carbide (SiC), our project explores scalable architectures for solid-state spin qubits that can operate even at ambient temperatures. This robustness makes them highly promising for future integration with classical HPC systems, feeding into hybrid computing solutions.
By advancing quantum simulation and computation technologies, SPINUS supports the creation of a European quantum and diamond ecosystem, strengthens Europe’s technological sovereignty, and connects to the wider efforts coordinated by ETP4HPC and the EuroHPC JU.
